LESSON POLICY

Tuition: Tuition is paid monthly and is due on the 1st of each month. Usually, students pay the first lesson of each month, as we do not invoice by mail. Tuition is a flat monthly fee of $80.00. We do not give any make-ups or reschedules because the teachers are paid for all lessons whether students attend lessons or not. We fully recognize that a student cannot make each and every lesson all year, therefore, we give you 4 free lessons per calendar year. Each quarter there is a month where there are 5 lessons in the month instead of 4. These are the lessons that you receive at no charge but the teachers are still paid for lessons. We accept Cash, Check, Debit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We also offer automatic pre-authorization payments. Please ask for details at the lesson desk.

Late Fees: All payments received after the 10th of the month will incur a $10.00 late charge. If you know you will not be in for lessons before the 10th of the month, please mail payment. Late charged will not be waived. If tuition is not paid by the 2nd lesson of each month, student is subject to automatic removal from schedule without notice. To be reinstated, payment must be made in full including all missed lessons, late fees, and payment for the following month. Any student that does not attend lessons for 2 weeks in a row and payment has not been paid for the current month will be automatically removed from the schedule.

Absenteeism:

Unscheduled Absences: If you are absent from a lesson for any reason, please notify our staff at the lesson desk as soon as possible. Regardless of the nature of your absence, you are still responsible for payment of that lesson, as your teacher is still obligated to be present for your scheduled time. There will be no credits issued and makeup lessons are at the discretion and option of the teacher.

Scheduled Absences: If you are aware of a specific absence please notify the staff at the desk at the beginning of the month. You will be entitled to 2 lessons per calendar year that you are not charged and can use at your discretion with at least 2 weeks advance notice, after you have been with Music Central for 3 months. Students usually use these 2 credits for vacation time.

Teacher Absences: In the event that a teacher is unavailable for a specific lesson, a substitute teacher from the Music Central staff, as designated by your teacher, will teach your lesson. In cases where a substitute is not available, we will credit your account for that lesson. You will not receive a credit if you choose not to be present for a substitute teacher. Please keep in mind that substitute teachers are teachers on our staff.

Inclement Weather: If lesson are cancelled due to inclement weather, Music Central will notify you. If have not been contacted before you leave home for your lesson, please call ahead to make sure lessons have not been cancelled. You will receive a credit to your account if we cancel lessons.

Holidays: If your lesson is scheduled on a holiday that is observed by Music Central, there will be no charge for that lesson. Recognized holidays are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Eve.

Removal From Schedule/Discontinuing Monthly Lessons: Music Lessons are on a monthly basis. If you wish to discontinue lesson you may do so at any time but we will not reimburse any tuition fees if lessons are stopped during the month. Please give notice to the lesson desk staff as soon as you know you will be stopping to avoid any additional tuition fees being charged to you. You are responsible for any and all lessons, on a monthly basis, whether you attend lessons or not, as long as you remain on the schedule.
